With proficiency in advanced surgical techniques, he provides personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Dr. Khwaja’s comprehensive, patient-centric care, along with his dedication to open communication, ensures that patients are well-informed and actively involved in their healthcare decisions.
He grew up in the Pacific Northwest and completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Washington, where he earned the Outstanding First-Year Sports Medicine Intern Award and an additional award for community service.
He attended the University of Arizona for his orthopaedic surgery residency and was recognized with the coveted Department Chair Award. He also published multiple academic papers, posters, and book chapters and earned a resident research award.
Dr. Khwaja completed his fellowship in hip and knee replacement at Yale University, where he gained experience with the direct anterior hip approach, a minimally invasive technique for hip replacement. He has experience with robotics and computer navigation and uses technology when appropriate to enhance surgical precision, reduce invasiveness, and improve patient outcomes. He has a special interest in outpatient joint replacement, which allows patients to recover in their own homes
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, biking, skiing, and cheering for the Seahawks.
