Kretzler, Hansen, Kung, Lauder Assist at Annual Coaches’ Clinic

Pacific Surgical Institute hosted the 6th Annual Sports Injury Seminar for Coaches on Saturday, March 24th. Dave Knoeppel of Longview Physical & Sports Therapy (LPST) organized this year’s event.

This year’s clinic featured Bob Medina, strength and conditioning coach for the Portland Trailblazers and was attended by 25 area coaches.

Other speakers included Eric Hansen, MD (ankle sprains), A. J. Lauder, MD (common upper extremity injuries), Jon Kretzler, MD (female athletes and ACL injuries), and Peter Kung (injury prevention programs) – all of Longview Orthopedic Associates.

Knoeppel focused on injury evaluation and soft tissue injuries, and the LPST staff supervised a taping lab before Medina closed the day with a discussion about in-season strength and conditioning.

"The participants were very pleased with the course content, particularly Bob Medina’s session," Knoeppel said. "I think everyone was happy with the practicality of the presentations and the variety of topics."
